How to get to / from Dublin Airport

Flying into or out of Dublin Airport? Luckily travelling to / from the airport is easy! Just about 10 kilometres (or a hop, skip, and a jump) from Dublin City Centre, getting to and from the airport is a breeze. Whether you’re touching down in Ireland for the first time, or setting off to somewhere in the sun, we’ve got all the information you need to plan your airport transport.
When it comes to getting to Dublin Airport, our top recommendation will always be the bus. You may think us biassed, but travelling to Dublin Airport with Aircoach couldn’t be easier. With our coaches leaving to / from the Airport every 15 minutes, 364 days of the year, our 700 coach service will take you into the City Centre in 40 minutes or less.
Connecting popular tourist destinations like Temple Bar, O’Connell Street and Trinity College, with drop off right outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, Aircoach can take you directly to where you need to go - whisking you right from the heart of Dublin City Centre to the airport.
With tickets starting from as little as €10, it is by far the most cost effective way to travel, plus you avoid the hassle of parking. Really, it’s a no brainer! Tickets are available to buy on board or online so grab your seat now and enjoy the journey.
Another option for travelling to / from Dublin Airport is to get a taxi. There are many local taxi companies that will pick you up from any location in the city centre. We recommend asking your hotel receptionist for help as they should be able to organise this for you. Or if you’re landing in Dublin Airport and travelling into the city, follow signage to the taxi ranks outside of Terminal 1 and 2.
This can make taxis a convenient option, sure, but the cost compared to a bus will eat into your holiday fund. In our opinion, it’s better to save your money to spend on exploring Dublin instead!
If you live locally or are visiting friends and family in Dublin, you might be able to travel to / from the airport by car. If this is the case, you have a couple of options.
The quickest way would be to meet your friends or family at the designated drop-off and pick-up zones. Or, if you are driving yourself, there are various long-term car parks close to the airport, including Express Red Car Park, Holiday Blue Car Park and Terminal 2 Long Term Surface Car Park.
Whilst these car parks can be a convenient option if you’re a local, they do come at additional costs which can quickly rack up depending on how long you will be away. There is also the added complication of getting to the airport from the car park, as unlike Aircoach, the car parks are not located outside the Terminals. Plan for at least an additional 30 minutes of onward travel via a shuttle bus from the car park(s) to the airport. These can also get quite busy during peak seasons!
If you’re not a local, and you’re considering renting a car, keep in mind that costs can be steep - not exactly what you want to hear after spending your hard-earned cash on flights and accommodation.
If you’re looking to explore beyond Dublin, you’re in luck! Aircoach isn’t just about getting to Dublin Airport, we also connect you to a whole world of adventures throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. Whether you’re planning a trip to Cork, Belfast or Derry / Londonderry you can rely on Aircoach to get you there without breaking the bank.
